Dress Code

Male KS4 students:

  • Jacket in black, navy or grey, or a Wigan UTC V-neck pullover. A combination of the two is also acceptable
  • Trousers in black, grey or navy
  • Wigan UTC Tie (provided by Wigan UTC)
  • UTC lanyard and ID card (provided by Wigan UTC)
  • White or light blue shirt
  • Black or brown formal shoes

Female KS4 students:

  • Jacket in black, navy or grey, or a Wigan UTC V-neck pullover/cardigan. A combination of a jacket and pullover/cardigan is also acceptable
  • Trousers in black, grey or navy
  • Tailored, pencil, flared, pleated or A-line skirt, no more than 10cm above the knee
  • Smart, white/blue shirt/blouse, not low cut or made of denim
  • Flesh coloured or black tights
  • UTC lanyard and ID card (provided by Wigan UTC)
  • Black or brown formal shoes

Male 6th-form students:

  • Jacket in black, navy or grey, or a plain V-neck pullover. A combination of the two is also acceptable
  • Trousers in black, grey or navy
  • Tie
  • UTC lanyard and ID card (provided by Wigan UTC)
  • Business-style shirt
  • Black or brown formal shoes

Female 6th-form students:

  • Jacket in black, navy or grey, or a plain pullover. A combination of the two is also acceptable
  • Tailored, pencil, flared, pleated or A-line skirt, or business trousers
  • Trousers in black, grey or navy
  • Smart shirt/blouse of any colour, not low cut or made of denim, casual checked material or displaying a slogan or large logo. Alternatively, a plain fitted top may be worn
  • UTC lanyard and ID card (provided by Wigan UTC)
  • Black or brown formal shoes

Wigan UTC does not allow students arriving in makeup, piercings (stud earrings excluded), false nails, nail extensions and unnatural nail varnish colours. Students will be asked to remove them.  False nails are not safe in a technology college and parents will be contacted to help remove these items.

Students should arrive to all lessons with basic equipment:

  • Pen (blue/black)
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Eraser
  • Other equipment where specified by the subject teacher
