Wigan UTC partners Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) have released visuals for plans to revamp their campuses.
UCLan has released a flythrough video of the £200m Masterplan for the new campus. The video shows how the current campus will be transformed over the next three years, with new state of the art buildings and facilities. The new Engineering Innovation Centre is due to be completed by 2019. There will also be a new square and Student Centre opening in 2020. View the plans here:
LJMU are investing £1.5million in the student experience after students across the University said they wanted more dedicated places to relax and socialise with friends. Six new student social spaces are being developed, the first two of which are now complete in the John Foster and Redmonds buildings (images below). The remaining four spaces are being built in IM Marsh, Byrom Street, Tithebarn Building and the John Lennon Art and Design Building and will be ready for start of the academic year in September.
We are really excited for these plans and can’t work to work with both universities throughout the next academic year!
